London -Heathrow-Vancouver
The last morning in London was another hot day. It's a bit hazy and air quality isn't very good. Karen and Aaron were leaving early, and I walked to the tube station with them in cause they needed any help with their bags. After breakfast I went for a walk before heading back to the hotel to finish packing and check out. We are taking the tube out to Heathrow, because of the heat we decide to go a bit earlier than planned. Leister Square station is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There are stairs, but our suitcases aren't too heavy so it's okay. Mid-day isn't a busy time and it's about 1 hour. Cost to buy a single ticket is under 7 pounds. It's very well marked from the Heathrow tube station to the bus station, and the buses to our airport hotel go frequently.
We stayed at the Ibis Styles Heathrow, a good basic airport property. Breakfast is included and there is a nearby convenience store and a pub as well.
The next morning it's a short bus ride to the airport, and check-in and security goes quickly with no lineups. There is always a bit of a wait at Heathrow to find out which gate you need to go to, it's a bit of a trek but we have lots of time. Boarding seems quite disorganized, but the flight is only slightly delayed. A smooth flight, again the flight is full and I'm glad we're in Premium Economy. We get through Vancouver airport and get our luggage with no delays, and head out to catch the Canada Line/Seabus/bus home.
Back to reality! But what a great trip to look back on!!
